What a microdrama is

A microdrama is a serialized vertical story told in episodes of one to two minutes, each opening on conflict and ending on a cliffhanger. They're built for phones and binge viewing.

Plan the season, not the episode

Write the season arc first: the central conflict, the reveal at the midpoint, and the ending. Then give each episode one turn. ClickPop's Drama Studio uses a writers' room to plan hooks and cliffhangers across the whole series so later episodes pay off earlier ones.

Cast once

Viewers follow faces. Draw the cast once, approve their reference sets and use them in every shot. Changing an actor's look mid-season breaks the spell faster than any plot hole.

Shoot in small scenes

Two to five shots per scene, each with a shot size, angle, camera move and spoken line. Keep scenes short and end on a reaction, not on dialogue.

Finish for mobile

Subtitles burned in, a title card on episode one, name cards when characters first appear, and an end frame that teases the next episode.
